The sensor actually measures sunlight every day and knows exactly when it's dusk and dawn. And since mosquitoes don't come out until the sun is either coming or going, the DUSK/DAWN sensor releases the insecticide at the perfect times every day to help eliminate mosquitoes. Want more frequent protection than the automatic DUSK/DAWN sensor provides? Fire off your Skeeter Defeater on demand with the remote control (included). The remote works indoors and outdoors from up to 50 feet away, allowing you to easily spray your yard from the safety of your own home. You can also set the Dispenser to only fire when you use the remote, just in case the DUSK/DAWN sensor isn't your cup of tea.

Portable, simple and hassle-free:
You can take the Skeeter Defeater anywhere you need mosquito elimination - camping, hunting, fishing . . . anywhere! Plus, installing your Skeeter Defeater so it's ready to defend your yard is almost too easy. Just load the Cylinder Refill Unit into the Spray Head, insert 4 AA batteries (not included) into the battery chamber, and then hang or place your Skeeter Defeater wherever you want a mosquito-free zone. Unlike other products, you don't have to deal with open flames, propane tanks, candles, nets, zappers, attractants or mosquito body sprays.

Used together, the Skeeter Defeater Dispenser and Cylinder Refill Unit (CRU) don't repel mosquitoes - they kill them! "The botanical insecticide (pyrethrin) that's sprayed will kill mosquitoes and many other flying insects.

I HAVE A LARGE YARD IS SKEETER DEFEATER RIGHT FOR ME?
The Skeeter Defeater Mosquito Defense Unit can be an excellent solution for any yard.

First, the Skeeter Defeater is great for any yard because it effectively covers up to 300 square feet. Since mosquitoes rarely get more than 300 feet from their home, you can stategically place the Dispenser in the areas where you spend the most time. This will work as an excellent solution for your yard.

Second, if you have multiple areas of your yard that you want to cover, then you can certainly place more than one Dispenser in your yard. They will all spray at dusk and dawn automatically each day, plus a single remote control will cover all of them. This plan is excellent for a large yard scenario.

IS THE INSECTICIDE OK TO SPRAY AROUND PEOPLE AND PETS?:
Follow the label directions. It is ok for people and pets to be in an area that has been sprayed after all vapors, mists, and aerosols have dispersed and the spray has dried. It is not ok for people or pets to be present while the insecticide is actually being sprayed.

According to the EPA, no insecticide can be considered safe. The Skeeter Defeater has been independently tested by a third party for toxicological data. Based on this testing, the label carries a CAUTION signal word as its hazards are classified by the Environmental Protection Agency in the least harmful class. Because an insecticide is designed to kill insects on contact, it clearly has toxic properties, so precautions should be taken when using any insecticide. The botanical insecticide used in Skeeter Defeater products is known as pyrethrin, and has been used for many years in different insect control products as well as flea and tick shampoos and lice shampoos.
